The decision comes amid challenging market conditions, including a sluggish global economy and geopolitical tensions that have led to a decrease in investor interest.

Carlyle embarked on its fundraising efforts for the Asia-focused fund in mid-2022 but has so far raised less than $3 billion, according to insiders.
