Cathal Deasy, a Credit Suisse dealmaker, has been hired by Barclays as part of a restructuring of its investment bank, just three months after he was promoted to a higher position at the Swiss bank.
According to an internal memo viewed by Financial News, the seasoned dealmaker will co-lead Barclays’ global banking division with former Morgan Stanley banker Taylor Wright.
Jean-Francois ‘JF’ Astier and John Miller, who were promoted to co-head Barclays’ investment banking unit in July 2021, will hand over the reins of Barclays investment bank to the duo.
Astier and Miller are not leaving Barclays, but the bank stated in a memo that they are in “active negotiation” for new roles that will utilise their “extensive customer expertise.”
