Edward Emerson, a well-established figure at Goldman Sachs, is bidding farewell to his successful tenure at the age of 47.

After a challenging period in the commodities business, Emerson took over as the leader following the departure of Isabelle Ealet and later Jeremy Taylor. But Taylor’s exit left Emerson to reap the rewards of leading Goldman Sachs’ commodities division during a prosperous period.
