The Norwegian finance ministry requested an assessment by Norges Bank, the institution managing the fund, on the possibility of adding unlisted shares as an asset class.
In their statement, Norges Bank recommended gradually moving 3-5% of the fund’s assets to private equity funds, amounting to approximately $40-70 billion.
