RBC Capital markets expands European DCM team with trio of bankers

In a bid to strengthen its team in the European debt capital markets sector, RBC Capital Markets has made noteworthy additions.

Alex Ulrich, formerly of UniCredit, has taken up the role of director within the financial institutions DCM team. Based in Frankfurt, Ulrich’s primary responsibility is to expand RBC’s coverage of European banks.

Reporting to Peter Riera, head of European FI origination at RBC Capital Markets, Ulrich brings valuable expertise and insights to his new position.

Joining from German Landesbank LBBW, Eugen Eichwald has been appointed to establish a dedicated DCM syndicate desk in Germany.

Working under the guidance of Anthony Tobin, who oversees the European DCM syndicate at RBC, Eichwald’s role is pivotal in facilitating effective syndicate operations and driving growth in the region.

In London, June Blake joins RBC’s corporate origination team, bringing with her experience from Deutsche Bank. With her expertise and knowledge, Blake contributes to the strategic initiatives undertaken by RBC in the corporate origination space.

Sean Taor, the European head of DCM and syndicate at RBC, emphasizes the institution’s commitment to broadening its primary product offering in the euro currency across various DCM sectors.

RBC Capital Markets currently ranks 25th in terms of DCM revenue in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, according to data provider Dealogic.

Although this is a slight decline from its 21st position achieved in 2022, RBC remains focused on further strengthening its market position and delivering value to its clients.

These additions to the RBC team demonstrate the bank’s proactive approach in attracting top talent and diversifying its capabilities in the European debt capital markets arena.

With a growing team equipped with specialized expertise, RBC solidifies its position as a trusted partner in fulfilling the evolving needs of its clients.
