Santander is actively expanding its corporate and investment banking division, with a particular focus on the United States.
Chairman Ana Botin recently disclosed at an investor conference in London that the bank has successfully onboarded “several hundreds” of new bankers in recent years, marking the first time the total number of new hires has been revealed.
Although Santander primarily operates in the retail sector, its corporate and investment banking unit plays a significant role, contributing roughly one-third of the bank’s overall profits.
