Travel Ban Imposed on Senior Investment Banker from Nomura

China has reportedly imposed a travel ban on a senior investment banker from Nomura Holdings, prohibiting him from leaving the mainland.

This action comes amidst concerns among Western businesses about the declining prospects in China’s second-largest economy, coupled with new laws that create tougher operating conditions. Photo: Shutterstock

The banker in question, Charles Wang Zhonghe, serves as the China investment banking chairman at Nomura.

Two anonymous sources revealed that he is subject to the travel ban, but no information is available about when it was implemented. While Wang is based in Hong Kong, his nationality remains undisclosed.
